Stage of cervical cancer

Why is the stage of cervical cancer important?

Identifying the stage of cervical cancer is one of the most important factors in selecting treatment options. In fact, information is gathered from exams and diagnostic tests to determine the size of the tumor, how deeply the tumor has invaded tissues within and around the cervix, and the spread to lymph nodes or distant organs (metastasis).

That is why we consider screening early stage of cervical cancer as an important process because it is the key factor in selecting a non invasive treatment plan.

What are the stages of the cervical cancer?

The stages of the cervical cancer are :
  • carcinoma in situ
  • the cancer is just in the neck of the womb
  • the cancer has begun to spread around the neck of womb
  • the cancer has spread into the pelvis
  • the cancer has spread into other body organs.
