Başkent University School of Medicine is actively involved in the education of the general public, medical students and healthcare professionals in Turkey. Public education about the causes of cervical cancer and the ways that it can be prevented through screening is a major focus for our faculty and works closely with the public health authorities responsible for decisions about cancer in Turkey. Başkent University School of Medicine also conducts undergraduate and postgraduate educational programmes together with a continuing medical education programme to give practicing health professionals the opportunity to be updated about cervical cancer, while our Gynaecologic Oncology Department has resident and fellowship programs that allow practicing gynaecologists to obtain high-level oncologic skills and knowledge.

Prof. Ali Ayhan, M.D.

Prof Ali Ayhan M.D. is a pioneer of  Gynecologic Oncology in Turkey. He is president of Turkish Society of Gynecological Oncology and a Council Member of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology. Prof Ayhan is currently working in Başkent University Dept. of Gynecological Oncology.

Assoc. Prof. Cem Baykal, M.D.

Dr. Cem Baykal is a medical doctor with a specialisation in Gynecologic Oncology. He has been in clinical practice since 2000 and has since been responsible for a number of research projects in gynecologic oncologic pathology as well as molecular pathology.
