Screening tests

There are several different tests that are used for cervical screening:

Cervical cytology
1. the traditional cervical smear test
2. liquid-based cytology (LBC)

The test used for cervical screening in Scotland is Liquid Based Cytology ((LBC). The traditional cervical smear test is no longer used here for cervical screening.
