Introduction

Across Europe as a whole, about 60,000 women develop cervical cancer, 30,000 die from it every year while more than 225,000 women are living with this disease (being treated or otherwise) at any one point in time. All this disease and death and yet the vast majority of cervical cancer cases in Europe could be prevented by screening and vaccination programmes.

The main role of the European Cervical Cancer Association is to raise awareness of cervical cancer and what you can do to prevent it. This website is one of our communication tools and we hope that you find it useful.
